About this Recruitment

Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), a prominent joint venture formed by Indian Oil Corporation Limited, NTPC Limited, Coal India Limited, Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited, and Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited, has announced a significant recruitment drive for 2026 to strengthen its fertilizer manufacturing operations. Under Advertisement No. E/04/2026 dated 5 August 2026, the company is inviting online applications for 78 posts spread across Executive Cadre, Fixed Term Contract, and Non-Executive Cadre, to support its Ammonia-Urea plants located at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Sindri in Jharkhand, and Barauni in Bihar. The vacancy distribution reflects HURL's diverse operational needs — 33 posts in the Executive Cadre spanning Process Engineering, Offsite & Utilities, Ammonia, Urea, Electrical, Mechanical, IT (SAP FICO/MM/SD modules), Human Resource, and Marketing disciplines; 2 posts on a Fixed Term Contract basis for Medical professionals; and 43 posts in the Non-Executive Cadre for Junior Engineering Assistant roles across Offsite & Utilities, Ammonia, Urea, Urea Plant Handling Operations, Instrumentation, and Quality Assurance & Inspection. It's worth noting that HURL has clarified these vacancies are notified against anticipated future attrition, and actual offer letters will be issued strictly against real vacancies from an approved selection panel valid for six months. Eligibility requirements are tailored to each discipline and cadre. Executive-level engineering posts require a full-time regular Engineering Degree with a minimum of 60% marks in the relevant stream, while HR posts call for an MBA, MSW, or equivalent postgraduate qualification, and Marketing posts require an agricultural science background paired with a management degree. The Medical FTC post needs an MBBS degree along with specific Industrial Health training credentials. For Non-Executive roles, candidates must hold a 3-year diploma in the relevant engineering stream, or in certain cases a B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with a minimum of 50% marks. Across all cadres, HURL insists that qualifications come from UGC/AICTE-recognised institutions through full-time, regular study — distance education qualifications are explicitly excluded — and that relevant post-qualification work experience be executive or in-line in nature, ruling out teaching, internship, or freelance work. Age eligibility varies meaningfully by post, starting at 30 years for entry-level Engineer and Junior Engineering Assistant positions and extending up to 47 years for senior FTC Medical roles, with all age calculations anchored to the cut-off date of 30 June 2026. On the compensation front, HURL offers competitive pay scales under its CTC structure — ranging from around Rs. 8.40 LPA for Non-Executive Junior Engineering Assistant posts to as high as approximately Rs. 19.00 LPA for the FTC Deputy Manager (Medical) role. The compensation package includes Performance Related Pay for regular Executive and Non-Executive staff, HRA as per Government of India norms, Group Personal Accident Insurance, and medical insurance coverage for employees and dependent family members, positioning these roles as financially attractive within the PSU fertilizer sector. The recruitment and selection process at HURL is notably flexible and discretion-based rather than following a rigid, pre-announced exam pattern. Depending on the number and quality of applications received, the organisation may conduct written tests, screening tests, group discussions, trade or skill tests, or direct interviews for Executive and FTC posts, while Non-Executive candidates go through a Trade/Skill/Written Test route. Importantly, HURL has reserved the right to revise eligibility criteria or limit the candidate pool called for interview based on academic performance, years of experience, or additional qualifications — a detail candidates should factor into their preparation strategy. The online application window runs from 5 August 2026 (1:00 PM) to 26 August 2026 (5:00 PM), and applicants are strongly urged not to wait until the last moment, since HURL has explicitly stated it bears no responsibility for submission failures near the deadline and permits no modifications post-submission. Both PSU/Government-sector professionals and private-sector candidates are welcome to apply, though each group must meet distinct CTC and experience benchmarks specified in the notification. With openings across engineering, IT, HR, marketing, and medical domains, this HURL 2026 recruitment presents a well-rounded opportunity for qualified professionals seeking a career in India's fertilizer PSU sector.
