Prepare the required affidavit declaring permanent residence, ex-servicemen/disbanded HSISF-HAP status, absence of any pending criminal case, confirmation of no prior SPO appointment in another Haryana district, and willingness to serve under department rules. Check the district-wise walk-in schedule and identify the exact date assigned to your home district. Important Instructions
This is strictly an offline, in-person engagement drive — there is no online application process for these SPO posts. Candidates must report only on the date allotted to their home district; no application will be accepted after the prescribed date for that district, and there is no provision to appear on an alternate day. Incomplete applications, or those missing required original documents/affidavits, will not be entertained. No TA/DA is paid to candidates for appearing at the document submission/verification stage. No written or physical test is conducted — selection is based entirely on document verification, medical fitness, and character/antecedent checks. Selected SPOs will not be posted at their home police station, though preference for the home district is considered at the time of deployment, subject to post availability. SPOs may be deployed anywhere in Haryana during emergent situations for short durations. The engagement is temporary — for 1 year or until regular appointment of personnel to these posts, whichever occurs first — and services can be terminated at any time without notice on grounds of indiscipline, misconduct, unsatisfactory performance, or non-requirement, with no right of appeal against the Superintendent of Police, Telecommunication's decision.
Job Description
Introduction The Telecommunication Wing of Haryana Police has issued a notification for the engagement of 400 Special Police Officers (SPOs), operating under the statutory authority of Section 21 of the Haryana Police Act, 2007. What sets this recruitment apart from typical government hiring processes is its format: there's no online application portal, no written examination, and no multi-week wait for results. Instead, the entire process is conducted through in-person, document-based walk-ins spread across four scheduled days, making it a fast and direct route back into service for eligible ex-servicemen and former paramilitary/state police personnel. Vacancy Overview A combined total of 400 SPO posts have been notified for this engagement drive, all falling under the Telecommunication Wing of Haryana Police. The official notification does not break these 400 posts down by district or reservation category — it presents a single combined figure covering the entire recruitment exercise, to be filled through the four-day walk-in process spanning all districts of the state. Eligibility Two specific groups of candidates are eligible to apply: ex-servicemen who served in the Armed Forces or Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and ex-Constables from the disbanded Haryana State Industrial Security Force (HSISF) or Haryana Armed Police (HAP) Battalions. Applicants need a minimum educational qualification of 10+2 from a recognized board, along with at least 5 years of prior service. Their discharge record must reflect an 'A' medical category and an 'Exemplary/Outstanding' character certificate, and they must not have been removed or dismissed from earlier service due to indiscipline, misconduct, or medical unfitness. Candidates with prior telecommunication-handling experience — particularly former Signal Corps personnel — receive preference given the nature of this specific wing's work. An affidavit is also required, confirming the absence of pending criminal cases and that the candidate has not previously served as an SPO in any other Haryana district. Age Limit The prescribed age band for this engagement is 25 to 50 years, calculated as on the date of advertisement. The notification does not specify any separate age relaxation for particular categories beyond this standard range. Salary Selected SPOs will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹20,000, transferred directly to their bank account with no cash payments permitted. A one-time uniform allowance of ₹3,000 covers essential kit items such as two uniform sets, footwear, and SPO insignia. Additionally, a daily TA/DA of ₹150 is provided during official tours, and casual leave is granted on terms applicable to regular Constables of Haryana Police. The engagement also includes a structured ex-gratia compensation scheme — ranging from up to ₹1 lakh for grave injury in action to ₹10 lakhs for death displaying bravery or extraordinary courage while on duty, along with ₹3 lakhs in cases of natural death and ₹1–3 lakhs for permanent disability sustained in action. Selection Process Unlike conventional recruitment, there is no written or physical test involved in this engagement. Candidates simply appear in person on their district's designated date with a completed application form, original documents, attested photocopies, the required affidavit, and photographs. These documents are verified directly against the concerned issuing authorities. Shortlisted candidates then undergo a medical examination, followed by a character and antecedent verification carried out through the relevant district police authority. Once cleared, selected SPOs are required to complete a 15-day capsule course to familiarize themselves with police department procedures before formal deployment begins. Application Process Since this is a walk-in-only engagement, there's no online submission step. Candidates must first download and fill the prescribed application form in capital letters, covering personal, service, and financial details, and prepare the necessary sworn affidavit in advance. They then need to identify the specific date assigned to their home district from the published walk-in schedule and report in person from 9:00 AM at Police Lines Telecommunication, Opposite Sector-25, Near Village Moginand, Panchkula, Haryana, carrying the completed form, affidavit, original documents, attested photocopies, and four passport-size colour photographs. It's critical to note that reporting on any date other than the one assigned to a candidate's home district will not be accepted, and incomplete applications are similarly not entertained. Important Dates The walk-in process is spread across four consecutive days: 24 August 2026 for Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, and Kaithal districts; 25 August 2026 for Sonepat, Panipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Bhiwani, and Charkhi Dadri; 26 August 2026 for Gurugram, Faridabad, Mewat (Nuh), Palwal, Rewari, and Narnaul; and 27 August 2026 for Hissar, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hansi, Jind, and Dabwali districts. Conclusion The Haryana Police SPO Recruitment 2026 offers a genuinely fast-tracked opportunity for ex-servicemen and former HSISF/HAP personnel to re-enter government service without the usual burden of written examinations or long application cycles. With 400 posts on offer, a clear document-verification-based selection process, and defined compensation including a monthly honorarium and risk-related ex-gratia benefits, eligible candidates simply need to organize their paperwork and be present at Police Lines Telecommunication, Panchkula, on the date fixed for their home district between 24 and 27 August 2026 to be considered for this one-year engagement.
