Qualification: 10th with ITI / 12th Pass / Diploma / B.Sc / B.A / B.Com, depending on trade or discipline
Code 101 – Trade Apprentice, Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), Chemical: Candidates must possess a 3-year B.Sc degree with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry. Code 102 – Trade Apprentice (Fitter), Mechanical: Candidates must have passed Matriculation and completed ITI in Fitter Trade of minimum 2 years duration with Pass class. Code 103 – Trade Apprentice (Boiler), Mechanical: Candidates must possess a 3-year B.Sc degree with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry. Code 104 – Technician Apprentice, Chemical: Candidates must possess a 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, or Refinery and Petrochemical Engineering. Code 105 – Technician Apprentice, Mechanical: Candidates must possess a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Code 106 – Technician Apprentice, Electrical: Candidates must possess a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Code 107 – Technician Apprentice, Instrumentation: Candidates must possess a 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation and Electronics, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. Code 108 – Trade Apprentice, Secretarial Assistant: Candidates must possess a 3-year B.A., B.Sc or B.Com degree. Code 109 – Trade Apprentice, Accountant: Candidates must possess a 3-year B.Com degree. Code 110 – Trade Apprentice, Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices): Candidates must have passed Class XII. Code 111 – Trade Apprentice, Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders): Candidates must have passed Class XII and possess a Skill Certificate in “Domestic Data Entry Operator.” Minimum Marks: Candidates must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in the prescribed qualification. The minimum requirement is 45% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates applying against reserved seats. Course Mode: The prescribed qualification must be obtained through a regular full-time course from a recognized Board, University or Institute. Distance or correspondence qualifications are not eligible. One Discipline Rule: Candidates can apply for only one trade or discipline. A candidate with B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry can apply for only one of Code 101 or Code 103. Not Eligible: Candidates awaiting their qualifying examination result are not eligible. Higher Qualification Restriction: Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA or equivalent are not eligible. Experience Restriction: Candidates having relevant job experience of one year or more after acquiring the prescribed qualification are not eligible. Qualification Passing Period: Candidates who completed the prescribed qualification more than five years before the eligibility date are not eligible. PwBD Restriction: PwBD candidates can apply only against seats identified under Codes 105, 106, 107, 108 and 110.

Exam Pattern
No written examination will be conducted for IOCL Digboi Refinery Apprentice Recruitment 2026. Selection is purely merit-based and depends on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained across all subjects and all years or semesters of the prescribed qualifying examination. In case two or more candidates have equal marks, the candidate older in age will receive a higher position in the merit list. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with the higher percentage of marks in Matriculation will be ranked higher.

Introduction Indian Oil Corporation Limited has released IOCL Digboi Refinery Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for the engagement of Trade and Technician Apprentices at AOD Digboi Refinery.
