Educational Qualification Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree awarded by a University established by law in India or an equivalent qualification. Candidates awaiting the final result of the qualifying examination may apply for the Preliminary Examination. However, they must produce proof of passing before applying for the Main Examination. Candidates who have passed the final professional/medical examination but have not completed the internship may also apply provisionally, subject to fulfilling the conditions mentioned in the notification. The Preliminary Examination consists of two objective-type papers, each carrying 200 marks with 100 questions and 2 hours duration. It is a screening test, and the marks obtained are not counted for the final merit. A negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for every incorrect answer. The Main Examination is descriptive in nature and consists of five compulsory papers, along with two qualifying language papers (Kannada and English). Candidates must secure at least 35% marks in each qualifying language paper to have their remaining answer scripts evaluated.
